Collection of Light #
Collection of light occurs when a slower-moving planet receives applying aspects from both significators. The slower planet “collects” the light of both faster planets, bringing them together through its own authority. This typically describes an authority figure, institution, or established situation that draws both parties into the same sphere.
A judge, employer, or organizational structure often serves as the collector – a third party with sufficient authority to bring the relevant parties together regardless of whether they would have connected independently.
Practical Significance #
These techniques are essential for accurate horary judgment because they explain how matters can succeed even when the primary significators are not in direct aspect. A chart that initially appears negative (no direct aspect between significators) may produce a positive outcome if translation or collection is present.
