What Is the Vertex? #

The Vertex is the westernmost point where the prime vertical (a great circle passing through the east and west points of the horizon) intersects the ecliptic (the Sun’s apparent path). It is always found in the western hemisphere of the chart, typically between the 5th and 8th houses. The opposite point is called the Anti-Vertex, located in the eastern hemisphere.

Symbolic Meaning #

While technically a calculated point rather than a celestial body, the Vertex has earned its place in astrological interpretation through observed correlations.
