Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 14, 2026

Short version: Kerykeion has no user accounts, login areas, contact forms, newsletters, or payment flows. We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate usage measurement, loaded only after your consent (Google Consent Mode; no analytics cookies or measurement before consent in the EEA/UK), plus a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics service. You can review or change your choices at any time via our — see the Cookie Policy.

1. Data Controller & Contact

The data controller is Giacomo Battaglia, based in Italy, VAT No. IT02768710200.

For privacy-related questions or requests: kerykeion.astrology@gmail.com .

This policy follows the principles of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Italian data protection law.

2. Data Processed

Like most websites, Kerykeion and its service providers may process limited technical data needed to make the site work, keep it secure, measure aggregate usage, and diagnose errors. This may include:

  • Technical request data, such as IP address, URL, referrer, date/time, user-agent, and HTTP status.
  • Basic analytics data, such as visited pages, browser language, screen size, and interaction events.
  • Functional preferences stored on your device, such as theme, banner dismissal, or sidebar state.
  • Information you voluntarily send by email, if you contact the data controller.

This website does not intentionally build profiles of individual visitors. Analytics identifiers (Google Analytics 4) are only processed with your consent. We use Grow by Mediavine, an audience tool in the advertising (Marketing) category: in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it loads only after your consent, and elsewhere you can refuse it at any time via Cookie Preferences. We plan to introduce display advertising; when ads go live, this policy and our consent manager will be updated with the ad network's vendors.

3. Analytics, Storage, and Cookies

Google Analytics 4. We use GA4 (Measurement ID G-N386FW7Q1M) to understand aggregate usage. GA4 is subject to consent: through Google Consent Mode v2 and our consent manager, no GA4 cookies are set and no measurement occurs before you give consent for visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland. Google acts as our data processor; transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. IP addresses are not stored by GA4, and event/user data is retained for 14 months.

Visitors outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland. In regions where the law follows an opt-out model (including all current US state privacy laws), analytics measurement is active by default. You can opt out at any time via our , and your choice is applied immediately through Google Consent Mode. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (as those terms are defined in US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA): Google Signals is disabled and GA4 operates in a service-provider capacity for aggregate measurement only.

Cookieless analytics. We also use a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics service (Umami) that does not set cookies and does not use persistent identifiers, on the basis of our legitimate interest in measuring aggregate traffic.

Functional storage. We store limited functional preferences on your device (such as your theme choice, consent choices, or banner state). You can manage cookie categories at any time via our , and clear localStorage and cookies through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.

4. Third-Party Services

This website may rely on external providers for hosting, analytics, documentation links, API examples, geocoding, redirects, repository hosting, and related technical services. These providers may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.

Main services may include Cloudflare, Vercel/Umami, GeoNames, RapidAPI, GitHub, and Astrologer Studio.

5. Legal Basis and Retention

The legal basis for Google Analytics 4 and any other non-essential cookies is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time via our Cookie Preferences. The legal basis for technical operation, security, cookieless aggregate analytics, and basic correspondence is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), except where another legal basis applies.

Data is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or according to the relevant provider's policies. Functional storage on your device can be removed through your browser settings.

6. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20)
  • Right to object (Art. 21)

Because this website does not provide accounts and does not intentionally collect visitor profiles, some rights may have limited practical application. Requests can be sent to the contact email above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) .

7. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version is published on this page.
